The number one question, answered with real examples. Think in volume, not just floor area: stacked properly, every square metre of the ground floor gives you as many cubic metres as the unit is tall.

How to work it out yourself
Add up the rough volume of your things in m³ (a medium moving box ≈ 0.1 m³; a 3-seat sofa ≈ 1.9 m³; a washing machine ≈ 0.4 m³). Divide the total by 2 and add 20% so you can move around and reach what's at the back. That is your size in square metres.
Stuck between two sizes? Start with the smaller one: swapping units costs nothing when one is free, and with no minimum term you are risking nothing.
