›How much does a unit at Trasteros Carrús cost?
From €30 a month for the XS locker on the upper floor (2 m²) up to €155 a month for the XL (10.5 m²), always with VAT included and no hidden costs: the price you see includes 24/7 access, electricity, CCTV and an alarm. No sign-up fee and no deposit.
›Is there a minimum term or a deposit?
Neither. The contract runs month to month and renews automatically; you pay the first month when you sign and you can leave whenever you want with 7 days' notice. Some storage places in Elche charge a month's deposit — we don't.
›How do I sign up?
Entirely online, in about 5 minutes: you pick your exact unit on the floor plan, identify yourself with your ID or tax number, sign the contract digitally and pay by card or SEPA direct debit. Your digital key arrives immediately, with no visits and no paperwork.
›Who can get into my unit?
Only you: you close it with your own padlock and we keep no copy. The site logs every entry and has CCTV around the clock, with an alarm connected to a monitoring centre. If you need an employee or a relative to get in, you can share your access.
›What can I NOT store?
Nothing perishable (fresh food), flammable or explosive (fuel, gas bottles, aerosols), no weapons, illegal substances, animals or plants. No electric scooters or e-bikes with the battery fitted either (lithium batteries are excluded for safety), and nothing over 200 kg. And no, you cannot live or work inside.
›Are my things insured?
The site has building insurance and public liability, and every contract will include basic contents cover, which you can extend if you are storing higher-value items. We will publish the exact figures at opening, along with the terms.
›Can I drive the car or van right up to the unit?
Yes, and it is our speciality: the industrial door lets you bring the vehicle inside the building and unload at ground level, a couple of metres from your unit. Any car works, and so does a large removal van. No stairs, no lifts and no hunting for a parking space. No other site in Elche offers it.
›Are the units on the ground floor?
There are both: the ground floor (from the vehicle to your door, all on one level over smooth flooring, no lifts) and an upper floor reached by stairs, meant for boxes, files and clothes — which is why it costs 15% less. You choose whichever suits you on the plan.
›What are the access hours?
24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with your digital key on your phone. Human help is available on WhatsApp and email during generous hours — but to get into your own unit you never depend on anyone.
›What happens if a payment bounces?
We tell you, and your access is automatically suspended until the payment is sorted; your things stay untouched in your unit. Prolonged non-payment follows the legal procedure agreed in the contract — we never touch your belongings outside it.
›Can I change to a different size later?
Yes, subject to availability and at no cost: you move your things to the new unit (they are a few metres apart) and the contract is updated. If you are torn between two sizes, start with the smaller one.
›I'm self-employed or a company — do you invoice?
Yes: registration with a company number and a monthly invoice with VAT itemised, paid by SEPA direct debit. We have a dedicated page for businesses covering the most common uses on the estate.
›Are you going to raise my price every six months?
No. Your price is frozen for the first 12 months, and if it ever goes up you get 30 days' notice. Unilateral increases every few months are the number one complaint about this industry in Spain: which is why we put it in writing in the contract.
›What if I leave in the middle of the month?
You only pay for the days you used: we pro-rate. Give 7 days' notice and there is nothing else to do — no penalty, no full month, no paperwork. Watch this detail when comparing: almost no site pro-rates, so if you leave on the 3rd you pay the whole month.
›Is there a discount for paying several months up front?
Yes: 5% for paying 6 months up front and 10% for 12, always in a single payment when you sign. When the period ends, renewal returns to the current monthly rate unless you prepay again. And there is still no minimum term: if you leave early, we refund the full months you did not use.
›Do I need a padlock or do you provide one?
You fit the padlock, so nobody else has a copy — it is the industry standard and the strongest guarantee of privacy. We will sell approved padlocks on site so you do not have to go looking for one if you sign up at three in the morning.
›Can I live or work inside the unit?
No. It is a storage space: you cannot sleep there, register it as an address, set up a workshop or receive customers inside. The building's rules and the insurance forbid it expressly.
›Can I put up shelving or drill into the walls?
Free-standing shelving (resting on the floor), as much as you like. Drilling the panels or fixing things to the structure, no. If you need shelving, we can rent you ours.
›Are there trolleys for moving things?
Yes, transport trolleys available to every customer inside the building. Remember you can bring the van right to your unit door, so in most cases you will not need to carry anything by hand.
›When do you open?
We are fitting out the building at Calle Requena 4 (Carrús industrial estate). Join the waiting list and you will be first to pick a unit, with an opening discount reserved for the list.
